ARCHITECTURE TALKS LUCERNE 2006
Date: 12 & 13 May 2006
Theme: “Shopping-Miles and More”
Location: Culture & Convention Centre Lucerne, Switzerland
For nowadays, shopping is experiential consumption! Today’s consumer
does not enter a shop anymore, but rather a space dedicated to
lifestyle, which offers merchandise as a “by-product”. Museums,
churches and concert halls are already turning towards shopping as a
way of binding visitors and supporters. When it comes to shop design,
the architectural signature is more important than ever. Whose
requirements stand at the forefront when designing new retail worlds?
Which influence can architecture and design wield on buying behaviour?
What does the future hold for the retail trade?
On 12 and 13 May 2006, leading architects and
designers showcased their innovative design concepts for retail
worlds such as shops, shopping malls and urban entertainment centres. A forum also has been
given to trend scouts and investors.
